Lydia began learning the Guzheng at the age of 5 and was taught by Ms. Wu Huijing, the Vice President of the Guzheng branch of the Wuxi Musicians Association, Professor Guo Xuejun from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Professor Cao Yue from Nanjing Normal University, and Ms. Chen Shujia from the Nanjing University of the Arts.

Lydia has won several awards including first place in the "Three Soloists" competition in Jiangyin and Wuxi, the Top 10 Guzheng Award in the Jiangsu and National "New Talent" Competition, and has performed solo in teacher-student concerts. She is a member of the Guzheng branch of the Wuxi Musicians Association, the China Association of Musicologists, and holds a professional title of Music Teacher from the Central Conservatory of Music. Lydia has also received the "Outstanding Instructor" award for guiding students to participate in competitions multiple times .
